Tres persones han llegit les regles dels 161 jocs presentats al Cinquè concurs Ciutat de Granollers de creació de jocs. Els han valorat, els han discutit, els han acarat i finalment han decidit que 40 jocs (el màxim que permeten les bases del concurs) passin a la segona fase. Tots els autors ja han rebut la comunicació corresponent i ja han arribat els prototipus més matiners.
Quaranta jocs són molts jocs, és a dir que ens donarà molta feina provar-los i decidir quins són els deu millors. Però la qualitat mitjana dels jocs presentats a concurs era tan alta que el comitè de selecció thought to be worth the effort they must make the testers.
